To cut a long story short, Richard Pinhas did probably grow up in a very wealthy family but didn’t seem to have inherited a large chunk of it. ![]() This led to charges of being a “fortunate son”, but it’s also believed that his immediate forebears squandered large chunks of the family fortune. He’s rightly considered an electronic and industrial music pioneer and is still as restlessly creative as ever.īorn in Paris in 1951, some sources – though he strongly denies it – claim Richard Pinhas is the grandson of Nathan Frenkel, who was the exclusive importer of Levi Strauss jeans in France. An exceptionally talented guitarist, he has been producing extraordinary music under his own name or as Heldon since the early 70s. T hough spiritually a son of May ’68 and the revolutionary zeitgeist of the late 60s, Richard Pinhas eschewed flowers in his hair and chose a darker path.
